Default Ticking sound

I have a 2009 Civic with 1000 miles on it and there is a ticking sound that is driving me insane!!!! I took it to the dealership and they said its the evap. sensor and this is a normal sound. I find it hard to believe a company like Honda would put something that noisy under the hood. When the technician unplugged it, it was gone. They put a new sensor on and the same ticking sound is there. Any ideas and is Honda working on this problem?

The fan is more of a "Whooosh" than a "Tick". I vote valvetrain.

I don't notice that sound on mine. All I hear is the prescision turbo trying to consume all of the available air around me.

you seriously use every chance you get to mention that turbo of yours.

we get it....you're boosted. the SN says it all.

OP, it's probably injectors or valvetrain. when you start hearing loud knocking then you got a problem.

That's funny. I was thinking the same thing.

OP- It's your injectors. They are very noisy.

As everyone has said already, injectors.

Could also possible be noisy pulleys.

Amen to that.

I usually let my car warm up before work in the morning, and well, my study is right above the garage. When I can't hear the exhaust from upstairs, I know the car is warm.

LOL...you'd be saying stuff like..."Even though it's -4 degrees outside, I don't turn on my heat. It's too loud and I wouldn't be able to hear my precision turbo trying to consume all of the available air around me. Hypothermia is totally worth it."

...I know you're in Japan(and I don't think it gets that cold there), but you get my point...lol
