New Suspension setup for 97 Civic
I am going to make this fast as possible. I am looking fo a comfortable ride I dont want to be slamming into my headliner (anymore). I do want to lower the stance of the car just a little but I still want the car to handle nicley. Not for racing purposes and if I do its straight, no turns! This car is a weekend car at the most but I am changing the entire suspension setup and brakes all the way around as soon as I get back from Iraq. I have looked at and heard great things about KONI yellows. I think this is the way to go but I want to get peoples ideas on a few others before I make the buy. First SKUNK2 Pro S-Coilover setup. Second SKUNK2 coilovers with KONI yellows. Next KONI yellows and what coilover? Im trying not to break the bank 6-650 max is what I am looking to spend, less if possible! Also I can get the SKUNK2 Pro S for roughly 575 is that a good deal?

Koni-specific Ground Controls are the best sleeve coilover for Koni Sport shocks. With those it essentially becomes a full coilover setup. I would not recommend any other coilover sleeve be used with Koni shocks.
This is what it looks like, minus the rubber boot I was trying to fit over the shock piston.

I just got done with changing my suspension 2 days ago on a 97 civic hatch. I had sk2 coilovers with agx shocks. 450f/350r, ex front swaybar, and asr rear subframe with the ctr sway bar. the ride was ok, but not the best. I was looking for the same results you are. So 2 days ago I switched out the coilovers to h&r sport springs. Damn, what a difference. It's so much smoother and the drop is the same as what I had when I had coilovers. I'm running on 16's with 205/45 tires. The car feels like my bro's rsx type s aspec. Frim, not hard.

So you went to softer springs, but the drop is about the same as what you had. You may run into problems with the suspension bottoming out often.
I thought my H&R Sport springs were crap. Way too soft for the amount they lowered the car.

Yes! And it is fairly obvious, depending on bumpstops.
When the car starts to adsorb the bump, and half way through suddenly feels like the car hit something (harsh jolt to the chassis), you ran out of suspension travel.
Heck, I bottomed out hard enough on a pothole that I managed to crack my stock radiator. Stupid plastic end tanks...
