Default WONT REV over 3,000 and cant check codes

well this evening i went to a friends house and the car was fine, i get ready to leave his house and start the car and it wont stay on so i give it a little gas and i here this ticking sound come from the enginea area, and the car wont rev past 3,000 before backfiring. i tried to check the CEL but the CEL wouldnt blink and the d4 light would. i duno what is going on does anyone have a clue?????????????????????

when i checked the codes yesterday they were a #10 and 14 (IAT and IAC)

just tried it again and the car is bogging back and forth from 600 to 800 rpms and the CEL is just on when i try to check it

The Intake Air Controller is fucked and you won't be able to rev high because the ECU is confused. Luckily, you just have to replace it (under the intake tube, between the strut tower and the manifold). IAT is Intake Air Temp, which will cause you to run too rich, thus the backfire. I recommend first you disconnect the battery for 10 mins, and then reconnect the battery, start the car, and idle the car for about 2-5. It will reset the ECU and this way you will be able to make an accurate diagnostic.
