Default worlds cheesiest boost controller

there are about 500 listings for these on ebay, I bought a turbo off of ebay used and it came with this same boost controller. crappy thing is I have no instructions and it isn't like any other ball and spring boost controller. Im getting my car tuned tomorrow and dont wanna just go off the gate. so If I can use this for at least a day till my new mbc gets shipped that'd be rad.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Turbo...Q5fAccessories
also I might try making the home made mbc if I can't figure this out.

any ideas?? getting tuned at noon thursday.

what is the issue? I'm sure you still plumb it the same way... You may be better going off the gate if you have it set to the psi you want. Otherwise this may cause boost spike do to its cheap design.

The home depot rout can be made to do the same purpose, but I found it hard to find that small of a compression spring in my area. I only have lowes and a couple local hardware stores and none carry springs of they type.

The one you got for "free" should get the same results as a DIY boost controller

here is the link I actually found it!

ugh. this is so frustrating. the link isnt working for me. Ive tried every thing to find instructions.

can some one please give me a step by step?

I have a T that has a ball and spring in it
and I have a bleeder valve with in and out
running a tial w.g. will I need to hook it up to just the normal spot for running off the w.g. spring?

I used one of those MBCs briefly. Don't use that extra 'bleeder valve' piece with the 'in' and 'out' labels. I never figured out what that is for.
When I got mine, the ball and spring was all tangled up inside, so check that out before you hook it up.

-the "T" goes in between the WG and pressure source i.e. turbo nipple
-arrow points towards WG, opposite end of arrow points towards pressure source
-3rd nipple goes to bleeder valve

-Im assuming the arrow on the bleeder also faces the WG
-the other nipple on the bleeder goes to vent in engine bay

- follow the instructions on Tial website for WG

this is for a 44 WG
http://www.tialmedia.com/documents/w..._wginstall.pdf

all of the WG
http://www.tialsport.com/prod_wg.htm
instructions are at the bottom of each WG description

Just dont use it period unless you know how to modify things and are good with turbo stuff. Its a piece of crap. I used one in my car when i had cheap setup and it doesnt work like the incabin turbosmart one. Its a knock off and they didnt even design it properly. No matter what if you use the Tee piece it will not function and you will get maximum boost all the time. Just ditch it and get abigger spring or just run what you got. or get a different MBC. somethign that may be more affordable is something on ebay its a boost solinoid with a limiter switch that you mount inside the car.

What the limiter switch does is provides more or less ground to the solinoid which makes it open or close more hence giving you boost controll here is a link for one

that boost controller was sorry. it couldnt hold boost. After many attempts and losts of boost spike i said forget it. Theres another one on ebay which is made up of brass fittings which you can make yourself. That works better.

we made close to 500whp on one of those cheep things, we just needed a boost controler and some guy had it laying around, but we didnt get the T part, only thing weird was when you turned it to + the boost went down and when you turned it - boost went up, but other than that it worked as good as any other MBC.

If your looking for a cheap manual boost controller, try a turbo XS.

I had one laying around the shop and put it on a car and it worked great. aprox 1 full turn equaled 1 psi. I was impressed.

The one you have listed, is junk. They go like this, one click does nothing, next click does 3 psi.. That's not good, they are very inconsistent but they will work however, just take it slow with them.

I have a pile of those in a box, basically, they all came from customers with Ebay kits...

Go figure, I can ship you a box of them for $20 + shipping if you want...ROFL (I am joking on that, I am a busy person).

One click or 1/4-turn on most turbo setups usually sends boost +/- 5 PSI. Most of the time, just by installing this crappy controller inline of the wastegate signal, it makes a base 8 PSI spring boost up to 14+ PSI for no reason even though the setting was at minimum.

The last one can be a pain stopping the car & adjusting it, but they work fine. As long as the vac line isn't a cluster****, they'll hold steady boost w/in about 1psi.

One thing you might try is that goofy ebc thing for $100. Its basicly a mini PWM controller with a potentiometer so you can turn it up/down, which controls a normal boost solenoid. It functions just like S300's BASIC pwm EBC does, by setting a certain duty cycle. I've never tried one though, I have a handful of solenoids, pwm components, and eCtune...

i've made them work by taking the ball and spring out of the T. Otherwise you will get major boost spikes.
