Default 1997 honda civic driving braking noise problem NEED HELP

When I go about 20 or higher and step on the brakes theres a sound that i hear when i loosely step on the brakes. I dont really know how to describe it. I know it cant be the shocks because I changed that. Nothing is affected, my braking isnt affected. Dont really knowo how to explain it. The sound isnt constant, it comes off and on.

I need your guys help because i tried to figure it out, but cant find the solution

thanks

I had a similar situation with my ride - kinda hard to explain the sound also - sorta like a slight grinding noise, but sorta not - and not all the time. Otherwise, the brakes worked fine!

Anyway, one day I was checking my calipers & caliper brackets for wheel clearance by forcing the caliper pistons all the way into their cylinders, e.g. forcing the caliper bodies outwards toward the rims as far as they would go.

The driver side caliper compressed easily using a large flathead screwdriver, however...

The passenger side wouldn't budge! I ended up using a tire iron for a pry-bar and *boom* it finally snapped loose. Turned out that the caliper body had locked itself into place with rust, corrosion, debris, or whatever - and as soon as I cleaned up the pins and slides, and applied some caliper grease (special grease made for brakes - not regular chassis grease) the weird noise went away - and it hasn't come back since.

Sooo... that's the first thing I would check - make sure your caliper bodies aren't stuck, and the pins and slides are lubed!

Try what BlackDeuce said. Thats probably why. Other than that i'm not sure anything else can be the problem. the brakes are well and you just changed them not long ago?

Try changing your pads and rotors? Worked for me.
