Default Wiring harness/oem stereo question.

I want to replace my sony stero with a OEM 6cd/tape from ebay in my 00 LX accord....when i do buy the new unit it will most likely be from a 01 or 02 accord.

would i use a OEM harness from the dealer or any after matket one?

If you are going to use an OEM stereo, you would use an OEM harness plug connector.

It will be way cheaper if you can get the connector plug and part of the harness from a salvage yard, etc. (you don't even need the whole harness); as the whole harness from the dealer will not be cheap.

Would your original OEM harness still be there? Many aftermarket stereo installation use an aftermarket harness from the radio which connects to the OEM harness.

You would hope so

Maybe he's one of the "lucky" ones like me that bought the car with a hack job stereo install where they cut off the stock connector and twisted bare copper together.

Soldering on a OEM plug is your best bet, make sure it's from a 98+ however since the style and order changed after 97.
