Default 91 LS turbo

Well to start the story my X-rod is a 89 with a 91 LS (b18a1) it has the bolt ons of course and im very happy with it it drives well has plenty of low-end torque and seems very reliable. However, My brothers, my father, and I have always had a competition on whos car is the fastest (maybe some of you can relate). but recently my brothers have all upgraded to the newer turbocharged cars ( SRT-4, GTI 1.8T, Evo IV) but i still have my NA honda. although i can hang with all of them its obvious that once their turbos spool i have no chance. Recently I have been looking into the next step for my car and there are plenty of choices. After reading the LS/VTEC Page I object to doing a LS/VTEC swap due to the problems with he R/S and im not willing to take that chance. I am looking more into Turbocharging based on my findings that the LS has a pretty decent factory compression ratio and I have also read it utilizes a factory forged crankshaft (please let me know if this is true as i have not been able to confirm). I do not just wanna put 8 pounds on the factory internals, I would like to do it right with forged internals. My main question is what are the good name in turbo parts, as far as tuning goes, the PR4s are not tunable so what are some good computers. also, i see plenty of cams and head parts for the Vtec engines but not so much the non vtecs, anyone know of machine shops that will three angle valve job a LS? thanks

ok i am in a similar position but i just dont have the money for turbo at all and man i wish i did trust me. ive spent to much time looking at all different kits for my car. But first ls-vtec could be one of the best choices you can and works even better with turbo. The is one really big downside though your rod bolts dont hold up good after 7500 rpms at all!!! if you wanted to do some internal work arp rod bolts is for sure the best place to start. If you got a b16 head that is the best flowing head there is to put with you block but again reving high can be an issue cuz the ls wasnt built to rev over 7k but just becuase you can go over 7500 rpms doent mean you have to. And if you have the extra cash get a b16 head and some gsr cams, btw gsr cams are almost excatly the same as comp2 stage 2 turbo cams. if you do that and do it properly the you shouldnt have any problems out of it, not to mention you would be putting a hurtin on you brothers for sure.
