What up ef ppl. I have a 88 crx si, stock d16a6. I've been running with no gas guage 4 3 years, I go by the trip meter 2 know when 2 fill up. I'm tired of not having a reliable system cuz I have ran out of gas 4 times. So I finnaly did the reserch and a the new meter cost 90 bucks from honda. And used dc cluster cost bout 100 bucks. So wat would u do?? N e input would be highly appreciated, thanx.

it may not be the gauge. it's most likely the fuel sending unit/float in the tank thats bad. or possibly the signal is there at the tank, and its just not making it at all the way to the back of the cluster.

I dont think that its the gauge unless you have already ruled it out, sending unit sounds more like the culprit.

Go to the wrecking yard and get a sending unit for cheap and try it.

Its stuck on full, it used 2 go down when I got 2 a 1/4 tank so more than likely it would be the sending unit??

i would assume so, i would try playing with the sending unit before buying a new one. cluster swap is not a bad idea, but it may not fix your problem. im not exactly sure how the fuel system is wired on your car, but i would test the sending unit itself with a voltage meter and if it seems to be ok, try bypassing the stock wire in the car with any other directly to the cluster to make sure everything is ok.

p.s. not 30% sure how they are wired or i would give you better advice, not sure if there is anything beteween the sending unit and the cluster that will change the voltage like a (enter word here cause im having mental blockage)
