so heres the thing..u will need new bearings and dont get any yet until the motor is taken apart so that u can see what size bearing is needed(standard or oversized)your crankshaft might be scratched and need to be grinded down evenly and might require different bearings instead of standard 1's..i had this problem and decided to buy a used crank that was in good shape for $75 (dohc ls)..

All the bearings in your engine can be different sizes. using someone else's old bearings is not an intelligent option.

You COULD install them and check your clearances with plastiguage but really it's pointless... get ACL's for 90 bucks.

Also if you spun a bearing as mentioned you really need to get the mains and the crank itself checked to see if it needs polishing/line honing which it probobly does. and even then sometimes you can end up with out of spec block even with the largest available bearings.

I'm all for ghetto cheapness... and frankly it probobly will work if you slap it back together with bearings that are off... but for how long? and will it now cause the complete destruction of the block?

the motor will knock and then you will spin more bearings since they will not be tight .
