coilovers are coilovers.. they aren't going to snap or break on you.. they'll do fine.. they probaly have really shitty spring rate but hey.. if it's free and makes your car look good then use them.. i would

yea the holes are there for alan screws so you can lock em in place, so when adj.'ing they dont spin on you... and simply the spring rate is the amount of resistance the spring with balace each corner of the vehicle.. an higher spring rate will typically make your vehicle ride stiffer and a lower one will be softer, and ther is also linear and progressive types as well, wich determains what the spring will do under g force and or excess weight such as some will acually springs react to adding more weight resistance when under excess pressure...

the parts that move seem to be made of aliminum or something they are quite light and don't feel rigid... are they all like that?

i have some similar to that and i am pretty low on em almost tucking 15 inch rims on 50 series tires and like they have said, the spring rates are probably pretty high. mine are pretty high and they are stiff as anything, i would put em on, but i recommend some nice aftermarket shocks

I agree with the rest. The best part is that they were FREE. I mean ****, the only thing I get for free these days is a kick in the nuts.

u don't need the set screws just wrap the shock n duct tape till it's tight then you are good to go. And if they are free use them man.

just like with anything for your car, there are good and bad.

Actually coilovers are not all that good, especially free ones. Try to really check and see if anyone you know has the same set and how they are quality wise. My friend owns a shop and he's seen plenty of cars break the spring perch. The aluminum was weak and couldn't reall handle the stress, esp. really low. Kinda like the weak aluminum short shifters from Pep Boys and Shiet...

Do you know who manufactures the springs and what rates are they? I personally wont put them on if I dont know where the springs come from or what the rates are and god knows did these springs go through any R&D or quality control... They are moving parts and not just some oil cover or spark plugs cover and safty should be the main concern here, they might also wear out your shocks fast if they are too stiff.

if u r lowering ur ride more than 1.5", i'd highly recommend KONI RED over TOKICO BLUE... mine hasn't blown yet w/the coilovers all the way down for 3 years!!!!!
