Is this a tranny issue?
I have a 96 Honda Accord Sedan/Auto, Stock Motor. Today I get in my car and the car won't go over 25 mph. If I gas it hard I can get over but I don't want to overdue it.
I noticed that when moving at a crawling speed the speedometer was at 0 and the RPM's were at 2k. When I got moving I was doing about 20mph and rpm's were at 2k.
If I'm at a stop I can switch between park, neutral, d4,d3,etc and I don't hear anything noticeable it moves good and makes no noise.
I checked my timing belt and it's still good and tight.
What could the issue be?

Lol @ the Avatar and the East Compton.
I didn't run any codes b/c I got back from work and it's snowing down here. Tomorrow I'll go to autozone and tell them to scan it for me.

Has the "check Engine" lamp come on?
If you Rev the engine in neutral, does it sound and feel normal?
Although you say you can move the selector while stopped and everything feels normal, is it actually upshifting as you're accellerating?
It's very possible you're long overdue for a transmission fluid change.
If I understand your discription correctly (GOD knows I could be wrong) it sounds like you may be starting out in either 2nd or 3rd gear range (really pitiful acceleration) or it is not upshifting.
I'll await your responce, but that's my first impression.
