Keep popping fuses, no tail lights.
So everything was cool, driving on the freeway, 90 CRX Si, didn't hit a bump or anything and the 10 amp fuse for the tail/dash/license lights went out. Switched it, lasted about 3 minutes then popped. Got home, changed it again, and now it goes out instantly. I've looked at all the wiring, i took out all the parking bulbs, disconnected the dash lights, and disconnected the license plate lights. All the connections were dry, and the bulbs were fine. i put in another headlight switch assembly and disconnected the light brightness controls. Same thing.
Any ideas?
How can i tell if a socket is bad, and do they just go out like that?
Thank you.

Most likely you have a short somewhere. Disconnect all associated lights or connections for that fuse, put a new fuse in and start putting back one light or connection at a time. Check the fuse after each light or connection to see when the fuse blows. Then trace the wires to see if there is any bare wire.
Yea thats what i did. I took out all the bulbs for the front and rear tailights, the license plate lights, the gauge cluster connections, and it still popped. I changed the headlight switch and same thing.
When i put in a fuse the second time and it stayed on for 2-3 minutes, all the lights were working correctly.
