I was under my gf's 98 crv and noticed the driveshaft wasn't there. Was AWD an option for crvs? Or did someone not put it back when they repaired the car(this is the only reason i can see why it would be missing)
yes, there were cheaper, only FWD models, in the small SUV segment in any manufaturers
i've seen similar vehicles, Ford Escape/ Mazda Tribute/ Toyota Rav4, that i was following on the road & thinking WTF?!?! --> a rear open cage that's missing a rear differential and axles
here's the specs from vehix for your 2wd/FWD model:

yeah my girl just bought a V and they advertised it as FWD. We took it home and discovered that it was an AWD model (had rear diff and AWD tranny) so we called the dealership and asked them about it. They told us that it had a bad driveshaft and instead of buying a $900 replacement, they just took it out and called it a FWD. They also said that its actually pretty common to do that
