My accord is starting to have engine noise, what could be the problem? The engine noise revs up when i am in gear accelerating or when i downshift, there is no engine noise when it is neutral. My car has 118,000 miles and i never changed my clutch or my transmission fluid. Thanks in advance.

 

does it sound like a tap or a knock? oil level good? you should change your tranny fluid whenever you could.

 

Sounds like you have a throwout bearing going bad on the transmission.

 

It appears the engine noise is in relation with the rpm. Whenever the rpm goes up (stepping on the gas pedal), the engine noise goes up even when i am in neutral. The engine noise seems to be at the belt area. Any other remedies. Thanks.
