I was on my way to work today and the car slowly sputtered out of life. The gauges were extremely dim and the wouldn't rev past 1500rpm, then it died. I have had the battery checked and it was good and fully charged about 2 months ago the last time this happened. The cause of that incident was an undercharging alternator. Ok easy fix, got a new 135amp alternator and put it in and haven't thought about it since then. Today it dies.
Car is a 1989 dx hatch, I have a sealed deep cell battery in the trunk run with 0 awg wire split at the fire wall 2-8 awg wires running to the starter 1-8 awg wire the fuse panel in the engine bay (yes I have checked all the connections thoroughly.) Anything else to check? I don't want to take the car in, all the problems started when it got cold (under 30 degrees)
