Default Hardrace bushings = FAIL

I bought a set about a year ago. Since then, every single bushing I have tried to install has led to a trip to the machine shop for trimming.

Trailing arm bushings were too large diameter and wouldn't press in: Took the bushing to the grinder to take 0.020 off the outer edge.

Compliance bushing: Poor sheet metal work meant that the bolts wouldn't sit flush against the mounting surface. Had to put them on a mill to trim off the extra interfering bits.

Front LCA to shock bushing: This time I got smart and only pushed out my original bushing part way to compare diameters. Yup, Hardrace bushing was larger than this by 0.013". Now I get to go back to the shop again to trim these down. Again.

In summary, these bushings are the shittiest **** that was ever shat out of a butt.

If you don't think so, please buy my set off of me for cheap. $50 OBO for everything minus the aforementioned bushings.

I just had a set of their trailing arm bushings installed in my DC4, and there were no issues at all. I suspect that this guy is getting bushings for the wrong chassis...especially if they are ALL wrong in some way.

BTW, my car's handling improved noticeably with the new bushings. Of course, I expected that since the old ones were totally trashed!

^yeah, maybe he got the wrong bushings, because what I've read from other people is that they didnt really run into any big issues. I'm debating to do the hardcore bushings, or just order oem replacement bushings

that sound like the best guess to me as well.
the EF chassis have a larger rear LCA bushing than the eg and ek. although the difference is substantial and it would be pretty obvious he had the wrong bushings.
i replaced all but my rear LCA and rear shock bushings on my ek and had no problems at all what so ever. i did think the compliance bushings were not as stiff as my ES bushing but i have no complaints about the bushing so far. i personally prefer them as they are lower maintenance when compared to the ES bushings and fit like factory. i also don't need to clean and lube them every 6 months or deal with annoying squeaks when it gets cold now!
hard race bushings are the best thing out there IMO

sorry for the thread jack but... all the kits for the 96-2000 say that the bushings for the front lower control arm only fit in the Si style front LCA. are any of the bushings useable with a non-Si front LCA? or are the LCA hugely different between Si and non-Si models?

The difference between the si and non si LCAs are like night and day. The non si LCAs are cast and use a much smaller shock bushing. The Si LCA is stamped and looks much thicker and is lighter and stronger

Im guessing he got the wrong set as well. Probably labeled correctly but packaged with a different model. I have not yet heard of issues like this from Hard Race products.

If anyone is interested in purchasing any kind of Hard Race products feel free to shoot me a PM.

The only other nearby trailing arm bushing size I know of is the DA, and they are 0.2" larger, not 0.02" larger.

Also, I don't know of any honda bushings for the lower control arm that are the same length as the DC2 but 0.013" larger. Hey Made in OC, if you have several sets of Hardrace bushings laying around, could you tell me what is the diameter of the front LCA to shock bushing for DC2? And whether you have another bushing for a different car that's barely larger?

Anyway, this still doesn't explain the poor sheet metal work on the compliance bushings.

PS: Are you willing to sell just the front bushings?

I did all 28 bushings or what ever two weeks ago with a cheap home made press, it took all day but they fit in perfect. I used the 94-01 integra kit for my eg 4door and they went in nice and snug. Once i got the all the random sockets and pipe need to press, it went kinda fast. I did research a bunch of the top companies for weeks and am glad I got the hardrace bushings!

What sort of home-made press did you use? Something that looks like a C-clamp? Or did you use a bench vise or similar?
