Ground Control Spring Rate Questions
Noob here.....sorry in advance for any dumb questions.
I have an EF (89 Civic Si) setup for AutoX (STS)
I currently run Ground Control coilovers w/ spss valved Koni race shocks.
Rear - .0700.250.0550 (143276)
Front - GC180.64.75 (159122)
(I believe that is 450lb front and 550lb rear.)
Numbers were taken directly off my installed springs. I'm interested in experimenting with some different spring rates. Are springs interchangeable front to rear? For example....if I want to try 600lb springs on all 4 corners, would I order qty 4 of 0700.250.0600? Also, I'm wondering why my front spring look different from the rear and doesn't have the rate in the part number. I'm a little confused and any direction would be very appreciated.
Thanks!

The rate is listed on the front springs, it's just in metric. 180mm = 7" free length, 64mm = 2.5" diameter (same as your rear springs). The 75 means kg/cm, or 7.5 kg/mm, which is about 420 lb/in. Your front springs would most closely match a 0700.250.425 spring in imperial units.
But yeah, you can buy 4 600 lb springs if you want. Or any combination of other pairs of spring rates, and you can swap them front to back to see how it affects the car's handling.

Ok...Thanks...it makes more sense now. My fronts just look different cuz they are the barrell type??...and the rears are just a normal flat type like the stock springs.
One last question. It seems the 700.250.xxx does not exceed 650lbs.

What if I wanted to try a 700lb spring? Can I get a 6" or an 8" and just adjust
the perch? Would there be any advantages or disadvantages to a 6" vs. 8"?
Or can I find higher rates in a 7"?
Thanks...I appreciate the feedback.

I would NOT recommend 6" springs. When looking at 700 lb/in springs, an 8" long spring has 1" more travel before coil bind than the 6" one does.
Do you have a pic of these "barrel" springs you're talking about? I don't think I've ever seen one from GC/Eibach. All the ones I've seen are the normal linear-rate cylinder-shaped springs.

I don't have them out of the car yet, but they look like this.
