reminds me of the windows in my bathroom. flip a light switch and they become 'tinted' or 'fogged', however you want to call it. Can't see through them. w00t.

Its not a tint but a whole new glass itself kind of like the new atuo tinting windows in the new topend mercedes. Way cool wish it were avaliable for retrofit to most cars.

Word to that. It is cool though, my moms escalade has it on the driver side and rear view mirrors rather than the "flipable" rear view window. Just push a button and the glass changes colors so the light isn't as bright. Good idea...probably more expensive than it is worth though.

 

on the wierd glass note:

has anyone seen those caddy catera's that have the opal looking windshield? There is a guy who has one locally and when its coming toward you the windshield looks so awesome. Its like a purpleish gray color, its the only car i have ever seen it on. Anyone know anything about this?

Yea - that blue looks gay. If they could make it so it would be the "standard" tint color that would be cool. I'm sure this technology will be able to be retrofited to most cars in the somewhat near future. Just look at in-car TV's!

It is more of the glass than tint.

 

one of my friends who was really big into car audio, said he installed this in early 90's in a guys VW beetle, he said it runs about 1000 + for it
