Paint Code for 2008 Civic Si Habanero Red Pearl
Hope someone can help out. I have a 2008 Civic Si, color Habanero Red Pearl. I went to the dealership to get some touch up paint for a small scratch on the back bumper. They gave me paint code # 0803-YR557PAH-PN. I applied a small amount. After a few hours the color still doesn't match... I checked the paint code on the inside of the front driver color and the code listed is YR-557P-4.
Question:
Do I have the right color and I just need more time for the paint to dry? OR did the deal give me the incorrect color.
Thanks!
Pete

The color code seems right maybe a different variant, i do body work and if your trying to cover up a big scratch forget about it itll never look right, another problem may be that there is no clear coat,...
it is smaller than a dime... on the side driver side back bumper... I asked if anything else was needed to fix.. the deal just suggested the touch up paint? I will call tomorrow to have them check on the color. If i need to remove it, how can I do it? If i need a clear coat, can I get that at the dealer too?

so r u still recommending a clear coat? sounds like no... if not, i guess my only option is to check with the dealer for an another color? Is it possible that it just needs more time to dry or several other coats?
Thanks for the quick responses

there's a sticker on the inside of the driver's door with the paint code if you still need it. touch up paint rarely matches perfectly. if you look at your car carefully you'll see that there's a difference in paint colors even between metal and plastic parts of your car. if honda can't even get the entire car to be one color then i wouldn't count on their touch up paint matching either.
thx vladd... in my original post i listed both codes.. the one inside the door and the one on the bottle. They are almost identical but not quite...

oops i thought i read that you were still trying to find it. i've heard of people buffing the part that was touched up to make the paint blend in better, but i doubt you'll ever get it perfect.

You never gonna get it to look the same especially with some touch up paint. Like stated before there would be no clear over it which would make it look alot different than the clear coated side. On top of that, the code may be right but most of the time there are alot of different varients within that one color so making it match would be pretty difficult. Unless of course you own your own paint shop and even then its most likely not gonna come out right.
