99Accord - Occasionally stall problem
Could anyone help me out with this problem? My car is 99 Accord LX Coupe V6 (J30A1 Engine). Recently it will occasionally stall about once a week, usually after 10-15 mins after a cold start. I asked a mechanic to clean the throttle and injector, and also changed spark plugs. However this problem still happens sometimes.
The idle RPM is 1000 after cold start, and then slowly goes down to about 700. Could it be IACV (idle air control valve)?
I know there's a recall on ignition switch in 2002. I checked on Honda's owner link website. It shows the status is fixed. Probably the previous owner had it fixed.
Any ideas what it could be? What else could I check?
Thank you for any help.

It certainly could be the IACV....the V6 engines seem to be prone to issues with the IACV getting clogged and/or stuck from carbon deposits in the intake stream. The problem typically starts with stalling or rough idling. I would suggest removing the IACV and giving it a good cleaning with throttle body cleaner. This might solve your issue. The idle speeds you mention seem reasonable.
I had issues with the IACV on my 2000 Accord V6. Started with very rough idling and an occassional stall. I cleaned the IACV and my problems went away for a number of months, but returned when the IACV just plain got stuck wide open. I replaced it after that. Try the cleaning first though.....it is an expensive part to replace (about $150).

Thanks a lot for your suggestions
I'll try cleaning IACV
