Default Nned help!! Surging idle!!

okay..recently i had an 00 si tranny installed on my 94 b18c1. everythign was going fine, until i saw that i had a radiator leak..so i uninstalled my radiator and installed a new one, cranked her up and now surging idle like 1500rpm to 3k, i took it to a very good friend of mines that works at the acura and honda's specialist and he told me to check the vaccume lines throttle cable throttle plate etc...check all those and still no answers, i cleaned the idle control screw and loosed my throttle cable (it was a bit too tight) and it brougt my idle down to 1k to 2k...this all happend after i uninstalled my radiator, could it be air in my coolant system or something else? please help!!

Yes it could be air in your coolant system.. Bleed your coolant..

Remove your radiator cap with the engine cold.. start the engine.. squeeze the raditator hose and burp the air pockets/bubbles out.. let the car idle

Reinstall radiator cap

Did you even try searching?

If you've cleaned the IACV and the FITV and you still have the surge, then one of them needs to be replaced.

I don't think there is an exact way to tell which one it is, but the local Acura parts dealer told me that he sells IACV two to one vs. the FITV.

But, the FITV is much less expensive, and it's returnable because it's not considered and electrical part. So, I'd try that first.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now...but after about 3-4 months of it, the surging stiopped, now I just have an excessively high idle of 3-4000rpm! Put my finger on the lower hole in the TB and there lots of suction. When I cover it the idle returns to normal, so I know it's my FITV.
