Default 96 Accord LX Oil Drain Plug Torque Setting?

So I can't get my drain plug to stop dripping and I don't want to over-tighten it so what is the recommended torque setting? Tried a new plug, always a new washer at oil change, and it was never over-tightened to warp the metal.

It says 33ft lbs.

You sure it's from your drain plug? check the oil pan gasket, who knows? Mine was leaking all over the place.

try a thin rubber washer and/or use some honda bond for the bolt threads.

or get a washer that has an outer ring of metal and an inner ring of rubber...

any autoparts store has these in their oil drain plug/gasket section, predominately made by motormite/ dorman

1/2" is the size of the gasket, i believe

next oil change, spray off the plug with brake cleaner and wipe off the pan and wipe out the threads and lightly coat with permatex 2B gasket sealant, the thick brown gooey crap. that can fix almost any leak. I guess if you really wanna be creative, maybe it was over tightened and actually cracked the bottom of the pan next to the hole
