Hey I jsut wanted to know what year and model does the b16a3 come from and would you guys recommend any other engine for the EJ1?

 

i think that was em1, if not then it was the del sol VTEC. But i can never keep the a2 and a3 straight. either way i would keep it obd1. personally i b16 are way too common for me and thats why i went with a h22 (h2b), and its around the same price of a full b series swap (if you do all the work). b18 would be ok (b series can make killer power), but stock for stock (besides the small things) i think ill stay with the h

 

whats the difference between the b16a2 and b16a3. and would the b18c1 be better?

 

95 was the first year for the Del Sol VTEC Model, and i think they were produced 95 threw 97. B16a3 is Obd1 and B16a2 is obd2

 

what engine would produce the most power out of those 3 engines when fully built adn turboed

 

Not sure about the b18's but the B16a2's and the a'3 are the same really. The a'3 can get away with more stuff since there Obd1 you won't have as much problems with threw codes or a CEL.

 

so the B16a3 is Obd1 and B16a2 is obd2 right?? and there from the 95+ del sol?

the engine is not going in the sol. I just question on which engine model was better. I have a 1995 civic Si coupe. How will the b18 do? how much power can it make?

 

It rated at 170-180hp

B16a3 94-95
B16a2 96-97.

Basically the same engine. Goodluck finding those engines for your swap. It would be easier to find a b16 out of a 99-00 Si.

 

you mean the 99-00 civic si?? and how much power does that engine have? whats the big difference between b16a2 and b16a3?

 

the difference is mainly obd i believe.if your sticking with a b series might as well just get the b18c1, and you could do a poor mans type r if you wanted. theres no replacement for displacement

 

actually if i remember corectly the b16a3 only came in 94-95 del sol vtec (obd1). the b16a2 only came in 99-00 civic si (obd2b). im pretty sure there was never a del sol vtec in 93,96 and 97 that came with dohc vtec. i could be wrong tho the only time i have ever seen del sol vtecs was either a 94 or 95 with the b16a3. i never seen one with a a2 unless it was swapped

 

so the 99-00 civic si have the b16a2 vtec motor stock?

 

also I wanted to ask what is the difference between the following below.I would really appreciate it. So I can decide what motor i can get from one of these civics. Is it jsut the engines or some small body and interior changes.

The chassis code differences can be because of different engines, body styles, power options, etc.
