A/C Clutch? Any one Know

Icon6 A/C Clutch? Any one Know

hello my a/c doest work n e more i took it to see if it needed charge and they added some freon but i notice the clutch does not kick in n E more! any suggestions on how to fix it or and steps of what i can do to see if its a simple fix or do i just get a whole new compressor! thanks

The clutch may not be at fault. It cycles based off of line pressure. Too high or too low and it shuts off the clutch.

Are you sure it's the clutch? Have you tested the clutch - you hook that red wire going to it to a 12V source and listen for the click.

no i have not checked any wire yet the sat for over a year it worked fine once i started driving the car for about a few months and all of sudden i notice that the a/c clutch didnt click any more im going to check those wires and see what happens! any more suggestions would be very helpful thanks im trying to fix it befor summer come back i live in da valley and it gets over 100 degrees all the time!

it's possible that since the vehicle sat for a while w/o being used the seals went bad and as you started using it again the freeon just leaked out. did it constantly cycle on and off for a while?

a/c worked by bypasing the wire but now rmps going crazy what happen'd what should i do? i try'd checking if i disconeted some vaccum or something and every thing looks good while testing i turned of the a/c and the car and forgot about the bypass wire from the battery for about a second could that have casuse'd a short? what should i do next so solve this prob!

DO NOT run the A/C clutch manually unless you have a set of gauges connected to the system!!! You WILL damage something, and possibly hurt yourself. I have seen damaged systems spike to over 500psi in seconds, and that kind of pressure can cause an explosion that WILL hurt.

A/C work is best left to someone with the proper tools and education to prevent further damage.
