distributor
Here's the story. My car died not too long ago. It was idling rough, and it sounded like it was missing. then it died one day. At first I thought it was something to do with the idle, or possibly my new fuel pump was shot. Well, the pump was making funny noises, so I replaced it. sounds much better when I prime it, but still no start. I tested the IACV, and it tested ok, despit the ECU throwing a code right after it broke down. At this point ity would run for a few seconds, then die. well, I tested the main relay, the fuel pump is new, and it can't be any sort of vacuum or idle thing ( I think) because it dies even at WOT. I just pulled a plug and it's drenched in gasoline. is the distributor probably bad?
I think this may be the root of my problems. I just looked at the cam alignment with the timing belt, and it looked a little off, so I fixed that. It made no difference. What else could it be??
Are there any places that can test the distributors when they're out of the car?? It's not worth it to get it towed somewhere and have a massive repair bill.

Well, the rotor is pretty new... tested the coil per Haynes manual instructions, but how do I check the ignitor? Ironically, the first time the car died I changed the distributor, and it ran, but it ran rough and bogged. I replacd it again (both were from the same wrecker), and it still ran rough, but it didn't bog, but it ran. I may have to buy my third one! (the first two were under warranty, but I may just buy a new one from a hook up I have)
