I recently made custom S badges. I sent them to my chromers to get chromed. After receiving them, he says that the chrome already on the frame part is to smooth to apply chrome on top of it. He says it needed to be sandblasted to add texture so the base coat of the chroming process can adhere.

After all said and done, it would not be cost efficient to get these little things chromed. So, now my options are to either leave them as is (silver "S" with chrome frame), or paint them flat black, or to paint them gun-metal.

Here are a couple of pictures of them on/off the car. All suggestions and comments are welcome. Some may not like the idea, but I believe it is better than some "stickers" you may purchase elsewhere.

where did you get the 's' part from?

 

The frame is from my '03 S2K badges. The "S" is from a badge off of one of my previous cars. Pontiac Sunfire to be exact.

So what do you think? Silver, flat black, or g/m?
