gsr oil tank question
hey guys,
my gsr runs out of oil occasionally and i forget to check the oil level sometimes
this one time the car actually ran out of oil completely and i didnt even realize,
in the end i did end up getting and oil change and it runs good now
but i would like to know if there is some aftermarket oil meter guage or something like that and where can i get it from to prevent something like this happen again
also, can i check the oil level when even the car is warm.....would the oil rise? or should i just check it when its cold

ummm all cars have an "oil meter" - the dipstick. If it's leaking or burning that much oil that would actually run it dry, then you have MUCH bigger problems.
You really need to fix what is causing the oil loss instead of worrying so much about being able to monitor the oil level.
Now, when you say you ran out of oil completely, do you just mean there was nothing on the dipstick? Or did the oil pressure warning light actually come on and the engine seize up? If it's just the dipstick that was dry, then you didn't run out of oil. The 2 holes on the dipstick represent full and 1 quart low. You could be 1.5 quarts low (out of 4 quarts or so) and there would be no oil registering on the dip stick.
You should always wait awhile after turning the car off before checking the oil level, so it has time to drain the oil off of all the internal parts back into the oil pan so you'll get an accurate reading. I like to check my oil level in the morning before I first start the car.
