which is more worth the money? rsx or rsx type s?
im looking at getting a new car in the next couple of years and rsx is one of my main choises - is it really worth it to get the type s? and does the base version even come with a manual transmission?
To answer your question, yes the base comes in auto or manuel.
As for which one you think is better its all up to you. I recommend test driving both of them and making the final decision yourself. I'll give some basic info on the 2 cars..
RSX has a 5 speed manuel or 4 speed auto. It has 160 hp and 141 pounds of torque. Cloth interior
. The base is real torquey in low rpms but runs out of breath fast, so its not very good for top end, but in all a nice car for daily driving. At the time there is not much aftermarket out for it.
RSX type S has a 6 speed manuel transmission, 200 hp, 141 pounds of torque and leather interior
to hot for Arizona..The S is a very good car and handles well, top end is amazing and screams once into ivtec. It redlines at 79oo but can be taken to 83oo rpm before the fuel cut off .
At the moment there are alot of companies doing R&D on the S.
Both cars are very well tuned and handle great, in the end it all comes down to what YOU want. Test drive them both and make that decision yourself.. Good luck.

It's already been stated before, but it's all about what you're looking for. In the long run, the RSX is much cheaper than the Type-S (especially after you factor in gas mileage & octane, insurance, and msrp's) but the Type-S is a lot quicker (nearly a second faster in the 1/4 mile). 40hp is hard to come by, so don't expect to beat Type-S's in a base RSX without f/i or at least cams + bolt-ons.
The Type-S is also sprung more stiffly (resulting in better handling) and it has a cd changer in dash.
Just drive both and figure out what you want & can afford. That's really all it comes down to.

other than that, well put mondo.
Are you sure bro? The 5 speed auto you might be reffering to might be the sequential (sport) shifter. I heard you can get this in the base and the type S, so maybe thats what it is. Other then that I know it should be 4 speed auto. I'll do a search and see whats what. Good luck guys
nope the base is a five speed auto....and a auto is not available on the type S...
I know the type S does not come in auto, but it does come in sequential(sport) shift . I have seen a few of these in some type S, so Im sure they have it.
Oh well, thanks for the info steve.
