basically i wanted to create this thread for a reference on a motor i'm selling. pictured below is one of the pistons and the minor nicks on the exhaust valve reliefs. a broken crower cam caused this to happen btw. at any rate if those of you who know something along these lines causes no real damage would speak up ; it would be helpful with the sale of this bottom end. long story short, cam broke, valves went up, the pistons helped push the valves up.

 

Only thing I would do is smooth it out with a lil emery clothe then run it..

 

This happened to me...well it was a little different story...but lets not get into that. The piston/bottom end is perfectly fine. As for the top end...new valve guides, and re-seat valve seats.

 

you know what's crazy, i would have never guessed that about the guides. however, i measured them and they are Fin sloppy now
