I have tried 3 local shops, friends of friends, and have yet to find someone I really like. I am near Mchenry, Il. If any of you can recommend a good mechanic in the area to work on my integra, I'd appreciate it!

 

I have a lot of my work done at the dealer, Muller's Woodfield Acura in Hoffman Estates, 847-519-9550. I know, the dealer is usually more expensive than an independent mechanic. And Muller's is NOT an exception to that rule; they're not the cheapest place around. But the quality of dealership service varies, and the quality at Muller's is absolutely top-notch. I've had service at maybe 10-12 different dealers in different cities over the years, and Muller's is the very best I've experienced anywhere. And this has been true regardless of whether I'm there with one of my two Integras, or with that other Acura I own.

I occasionally go to Acura of Brookfield, just west of Milwaukee, particularly when I have something specific to track driving, which they're more familiar with. And they're also very good (also for routine service as well), and are usually somewhat less expensive than Muller's. From McHenry, it's not all that far, either (going up past Lake Geneva to I-43). 262-785-1918.
