Default EF Sedan Lights not working

90 ef sedan...A couple of days ago i developed an exhaust leak, now my cluster lights dont work, corner lights dont work, and license plate indicator light doesnt work either.

i have keyless entry and whenever i set the alarm, my corner lights, brake lights and license plate light all flash but they didnt do that last nite and have yet to work. i really have no idea what could have caused this and i dont believe that the fuses controlling these lights all blew at the same time.

side note...is repairing an exhaust leak a good thing? i was planning on going 2 1/2 straight pipe to flowmaster muffler to extended tip

I can't see how repairing an exhaust leak could be bad. You don't need to be inhaling fumes that get in the car from a hole in the exhaust.

The leak isn't related to your light issue though. No wires associted with the lighting run anywhere near the exhaust.

For the lights you should start at the fusebox and work your way out. My guess is that the keyless entry is causing the problem.

maybe the muffler fuse is causing the problem...haha

i know there isnt any relation but it just sucks that i have an exhaust leak AND lighting issues. i think the flex pipe ripped or something because its coming from the front of the car rather than the muffler area. my front end is lower than the rear and i scrape from time to time, plus i hear a rattle at downshift.

as far as the keyless entry goes...i hate it, but the alarm is intertwined with everything if i lean against my hood i will set it off. only problem is that it doesnt make noise, only flashing lights. its a Viper alarm by the way :-) i was able to bypass it by running a wire from the blk/wht ignition wire straight to starter so now i can start it up with no clutch. Even if the alarm is going off i can still start it. i only use the keyless because i like having my doors unlocked without using the key. The passenger side doesnt even have a lock assembly haha

LOL! Doesn't sound like your alarm is doing you much good!
Does the door still lock/unlock when you set the 'alarm'?
Maybe the alarm fuse blew.

yea the passenger side still locks/unlocks somehow. and i CANNOT open the passenger door from the inside or outside when its locked.

the alarm would be really nice if it made noise, either honked the horn or if the alarm had the "step away from the vehicle" voice haha.

quick question, im sure many of you know that on EF's the driver side door can only be locked/unlocked when the inside door handle is being held open OR if the door is shut. how can i bypass that? i dont think i've seen a write up on it.

ok i disconnected the keyless entry. no more alarm no more remote unlocking. still the damn lights are all out. i really hope they all burned out and it isnt a wire problem. i dont even have my tail lights, brake lights yes but no running tails.

If all else fails you can hook a probe to an inline fuse and hook that to 12V.
Then you inject 12v with the probe on a wire for one of the lights that isn't working.
Start at the bulb and it should light up.
Work your way back through the harness and connectors towards the fuse box.

Maybe you pulled a connector loose off the back of the fuse box itself?
