I sold my ITR and bought this....
I sold my ITR (97 #57) to Aaron (brewcityR) a couple of weeks ago and picked up a 02 MINI Cooper S. I'm still running through my breakin miles, but the car is quite amazing. The handling is superb, I miss the screaming vtec, but more power is on its way (200hp from the John Cooper Works Garage the Spoon of MINI). Owning the R was great fun but I am moving to Montreal, a haven for ITR thefts. I'm taking the MINI and probably my M3 with me. Here are some pics.... thanks I'll still be hanging out on the board. I'm happy that my ITR went to a great home. take care...

Gimme a call when you have time. I have good news.

Aaron let me drive the 97 R that you sold him. One word - WOW! That car is almost 6 years old now and it drives like new! That has to be one of very few low milage 97 R's in pristine condition, both mechanically and cosmetically.
It's too bad that you had to sell that car. However, I am glad that Aaron is the new owner. Knowing how well Aaron took care of his GS-R that car is in good hands.

you tried to sell your M3 a while ago didnt you? I remember seeing it in some BMW classifieds. Great looking car, but you can't be without both the M and the ITR....
How does it handle? Well, i'm still in breakin, but it really does handle like a gocart. I highly suggest some of you ITR drivers book a test drive. You will be pleasantly surprised. I am excited to autox and road course it. It is going to be a fun car. The balance and overall feel it has is extremely well mannered. Compared to the ITR The steering feel in the MCS is better imo (more weighted, BMW like, almost like in my M3). The gas/clutch feel is pretty equal. i prefer the driving position (more adjustment, seat goes back further. It tracks like it's on rails just like an ITR. The engine powerband is very smooth and builds nicely. Currently it's rated at 163hp but there are a number of tuners set to release their kits. Most noteably is the John Cooper Works Kit, rumours have it, the upgrades set to be released next month are supposed to increase power to 200hp!. Over the car has a beautiful sound. The true dual exhaust and supercharger whine compliment each other so nicely to give harmonious sound as the revs climb. So far I have no complaints. I miss the R but not as much as I thought I would. The most surprising thing about the entire car is the interior passenger volume. I measured from rear seatback to center dash and it was exactly equal to my sister's 4door civic! (Not much trunk space though). Overall it is great for what it is and am extremely satisfied with my purchase. Another plus, many of the guys/girls on the mini2.com Cooper S board are similar to everyone here, a bunch of die hard car nuts. I'm going to write up a full analysis once i get past break in and will post my results comparing to the different cars that i've owned.

The M3 was repainted by the original owner (Florida Car). I believe it was painted 4 years ago. The car looks better in person. Clean title and has been sitting since last October.
if you need more details email me directly.
