Default 1990 Accord EX Electrical Problems

My accord is having some electrical problems. Here is what is wrong,

*The dash tells me the brake light is out, but it is not
*When I brake it interferes with my right turn signal (It signals, but in a weird pattern), but when I let go of the brakes it goes back to normal.

It has been cold so I think that might be part of it, but if anyone knows please post it here. THANKS!

replace the bulb and inspect the socket, you have some kind of short circuit or backfeed

Replace the two filement bulb on the side that's effected and look for a broken ground connection. Your brake lamp is finding a ground thru another lamp socket, thus the screwy responses.

Thats funny you mentioned the brake lamp being on when the bulbs are fine. Mine does the same thing. When I had the Safety done, the Honda tech told me that if they work when you push on the pedal, then in his opinion they pass. Ill have to check my bulbs and connections also. Thank P.

by backfeed I mean its getting a ground from another circuit causing it to short or power up things it shouldnt. on my 96 theres a ground right on the core support by the battery that was corroded and it made my blinkers flash really slow, so check that and the ground from battery negative to the block and any other grounds you can locate. they must be clean shiny bright and have a tight connection

a very common problem with this generation accord is the pigtail harness connectors to the taillights become burnt and sometimes 2 wires will touch slightly. I suggest you start off by checking the rear taillight harness connectors. You may find what i'm talking about. Good luck

There is no reset required
