Default possible tranny problem?

It hasn't happened often but when I put my car into drive the wheels won't move and the odmeter will move up in speed. Once I put the car into reverse and then into drive again the car moves fine. I was wondering if there is anything wrong with the tranny?

Off note: One time I turned off my car and out of nowhere the dashboard blinked 2 times with a noise

are any of the lights on in the dash....ie is it throwing a code?

Usually, when something is wrong with the transmission, the gear indicator light (on the guage cluster) will blink in "D" when you start the car up.

You should be able to hook up an OBD2 scanner to your car and find out what codes it is sending to the ECU.
