US Military in SoCal.........fundraiser car show???
Just an idea I have floating in my head..................
I am active duty Navy for over 17 years, and am stationed in San Diego. Considering the number of Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and even some Army in Southern California, I will bet my left nut that there are too many cool cars belonging to servicemembers from all over San Diego, Camp Pendleton, Riverside County, Orange County. Do not forget those in the stix out in 29 Palms
If I could organize a car show to raise funds............the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society or Operation Homefront comes to mind............what kind of interest would there be for folks to enter the show?
A possible stipulation is that cars entered would have to belong to active duty, reservists. retirees, and dependents with a valid ID card. The entrance fee would be around $20.00. It would be open to any type of vehicle that is unique and of some show quality. It would be great to have all genres of cars, not just imports.
-Imports
-Domestics
-Antiques
-Low riders
-Muscle cars
-Motorcycles
-Tricked out rides
The audience would be the general public. The entrance fee would be between $5-$10
The location would be somewhere in San Diego County, some place where the general public would have no problem having access if it happens to be on a Military base such as Miramar.
The date would be sometime this summer..........maybe July 2009???
Respond or bump this thread if you are interested or think this is a good idea.

I'm not sure if you could get enough cars to call it a full fledged car show, but as long as it's for a good cause, I'd say open it to everyone but be sponsored by the military. Being an active duty Army Soldier in Los Angeles, I would come either way. Although my 01 ITR is clean and modified, I would consider showing it just for the fun of it. Let's make it happen.
