MSD Ignition setup questions
Hey all just chasing some information on the MSD ignition setups.
I have a 99 ITR with a B18C7 and want to upgrade the spark. I know i have to buy a new dizzy cap (going MSD) and then all i need is the blaster 2 coil? is this correct or do i need any more msd parts?
Can anyone inform me on what you need/what you people are running. Its all motor as well.
Thank you.

I'm thinking your correct about what you need but allow me to give you my experience with MSD. I once had my R SC'd using the SCI (sport compact ignition), external coil and MSD dist cap. Even at 10 PSI I coulf tell no difference at all with or without it. Track times on the 1320 remained almost the same consistantly.
The Honda stock ignition system is fairly strong to be factory equipment.
Personally I think it to be a waste of money but it's not very expensive if you just want to try the Blaster coil and the dist cap. You can never have to much spark and it may yield just a tad more throttle response but it's not that big of a deal to me.
Good luck to you and let us know how it goes and,........WELCOME TO THE R FAMILY!

Hey thanks mate - i was talking to another bloke on here and he said that the stock system is very capable - even up to 400rwhp. So i guess if i put it on it would only be for w*nk factor. I will be spending my money elsewhere to try and get some more power/reliability.
Thanks again.

No problem man. I can't remember exactally but talking to some others about high boost levels like 20 psi+ can be known to have problems blowing the spark out like a candle. Thats when an amplified spark would be needed. Go buy a nice set of NGK wires and one stage cooler NGK V-Power plugs. Let that be your ignition upgrade.
