Now I need some help trying to remove the sticky stuff off the trunk.
Tried pretty basic stuff, soapy water, windex..

Still can't seem to remove it.

 

Goo Gone, 3M adhesive remover...if neither of those work, heat it up a bit with a hairdryer and it should come off easily.

You may need to use a polish or compound to remove any other residue

 

i would try the hair dryer idea first, that other crap with mess up your paint

 

Try some Gunk Tar-N-Bug remover. It's clearcoat safe. Works wonders removing tar and old gooey sticker residue.

I used goo gone when I took my Civic badge off of my car. Then I washed it and buffed it. Didn't leave any mark at all and didn't harm the paint.

 

goo gone is awsome, dosnt hurt paint either.

 

It is good. And the best part is, I found it at a 99cents store. LOL! Anyways leave it on there for 15 seconds, and just wipe away with a soft paper towel. No marks. I lend it to my friend to remove the sticker residue from those 3M stickers. After alcohol, scratching it off, that bottle just took it off like it was nothing!

(Man I sound like an advertiser. lol)

 

Never had problems removing emblems on vehicles with goo gone and a microfiber towel. I see you have an 04 RSX, so I would suggest doing a nice buffing where the emblems used to be. The bug and tar remover sounds like a great idea too, espcially if it is clearcoat safe.

Autozone might have Goo Gone, but you're honestly better off going to a dollar store, or a drug store to find it.

 

Well the one a few blocks down didn't have any. I'll hunt for some dollar stores

 

i found it, tried it and didnt really work out that well.

after that done what would be the best way of covering the holes for the badges

 

I think he was just removing the acura and rsx type s badges as you can see the honda emblem is still there but for the holes for that idk I think it don't look right without the honda or acura badge

 

"Goo Gone" and Rubbing alcohol are pretty good with that...just make sure whatever you use is safe on the paint.

you need to clay bar the old A part. Buff out the old emblem markings.

i know it sounds crazy but hand sanitizer works lol (dont ask)

 

I used rubbing alcohol to clean the area before putting on a decal...and yeah, it was fine.
