Looking to buy 1995 Euro Civic 1.4i
Hows it going H-t?
I've been posting on Honda-Tech for quite a few years and usually am on here almost everyday. I've always loved Japanese cars and especially Hondas. It's my passion!
My previous car, 94' Prelude Si. had to be sold due to this move
So i've been looking for a new Honda to play with while I'm here
So when the Air Force decided to station me in Germany, I was hoping to find a import(honda) of some sort. The choices here are slim to none, the roads are covered with Audi's, VW's, and BMW's. I'm so sick of seeing them already. haha
Since you guys are the Civic experts, I would love to get your opinions on this
So I've come across this 1995 Euro Spec Civic 1.4i
Here's the Specs on it as it stands:
1995 Honda Civic 1.4i
129,980KM(80,765Miles) Fairly low I would say
Manual
Asking 1,200Euro(Fixed Price)
Here's the link to the car if you would like to see it
However I'll post the pictures anyways because I know you guys love the pics
Also here's the post the guy put up as a description:
(He's German)--I translated it for free online:
Radio, steering wheel heights-adjustably, elektr. adjustable outside mirrors back bench partly hinged, floodlight elektr. adjustable, 2 previous owners, non-smoker vehicle, dental strap was changed, mileage can be proved with help of safety standards authority proofs and repair documents known defects: completely smaller accident a driver's side in front where kotflügel is, typish pair of small roststellen. FIXED PRICE

Also, is it just me, or is this a 4 door hatch? Also the tails and headlights look like those of an Accord.

I was going to post earlier...
That car looks weird IMO. From the side it reminds me of a Tercel. It also says something about accidents in the translated part. LOL @ "dental strap was changed"
But who cares what I/we think. If you like it and the price seems fair then do it!

I sort of thought it looked like a tercel too lol. Also 1200Euro is aprox. $1500USD at the current exchange rate, which changes daily. I care ALOT lol, I like to hear what my fellow H-t members think.
One more thing, this car isn't going to be permanent, I'm planning on selling it before I leave back to the states and try to pick up either a Jspec or UkSpec R33 so I can take it back to the states with me, it's relatively cheaper here to get one of those. However, for the time being, I would like something to drive that I enjoy.

That is a Civic five door. They're similar to the Civic Aerodecks (which are wagons).
I haven't ever heard anything bad about them, but they're both only European models. The Aerodeck in particular is available in very few markets.
Some of them come with what are basically Integra GSR engines, but obviously not this one.
From what my catalog tells me, the '95 1.4i five door has (at least available) 75PS.
Displacement: 1400 PGM-FI SOHC
Trim: 1.4i
Transmissions: MT / AT
Chassis code: MA8
Engine: D14A2

I know the ones with the GSR engines (the VTi) had a different interior and a standard lip. I don't know what years they were all available though. Yours has the earlier look to it.
I've seen some really nice ones before. People do modify these cars too.
