Engine knock
I'm having a slightly annoying problem, when i do a fast gas rev when the car is in neutral i hear like a little knock right when i attempt to push the gas down fast to rev it, if i push the gas pedal at a normal rev speed it doesn't knock. It happens ONLY just before i attempt to push the gas pedal FAST and it knocks right when i push it and once pushed all the way it doesn't knock revs normal. Can anyone feel me in on some issue that i might have ?
By checking oil pressure/fuel pressure everything seems to be up to specs. I have not check timing yet and might be an issue so that is one of my concerns that the timing might be slightly off, My valves seem to make more noise then normal so i will be adjusting the valve clearance. Other then that my car is running fine a little smoke out the muffler but almost nothing only because I'm running Type-R 4-1 headers with no catalytic converter.
Motor is Ls/VTEC B18b1 Block, B16 head .
All input can benefit me in diagnosing my problem thanks in advance. Paul

not sure on the sound you describe. if you could get a half-way dece audio clip or video of it that might help. as far as the valve chatter you're getting that could also be your lost motion assemblies.
After doing a whole lot of tests i found the problem first i adjusted all the valve clearance to help with the diagnosis , then i check all fluids, my timing was a tad bit off so i went ahead and timed it to specs, then i installed a new timing belt, full tune up, my fuel pressure was above normal so i adjusted the fuel pressure regulator, did a tyranny flush , radiator flush, new spark plugs and wires, new air filter to fuel filter, replaced my old knock censor, then wen ahead to see what it might be cause after all this that was done i was still hearing it then the most simplest mistake i found i never even thought of seeing if my pulley was centered properly so i looked up the specs and there it was the mistake and annoying noise that dreaded me , so i took it to my buddy's shop and there we fixed it now the noise is gone for ever ! lol
P.S typical Honda-tech gurus NEVER HELP but if you post a picture of some skinny b*th they will jump to reply to that lol .
