Default car squeaks and sound like metal grinding while driving

I'm having a problem with my 92 VX squeaking while driving. Before it would just squeak a little, but starting to notice it is squeaking a lot in the front passenger side on little bumps. Also, while turning left or right, I can hear some sort of metal grinding. Having trouble with it and tried searching. Car doesn't have power steering and was wondering what could cause this problem? Thanks.

check your brakes...could be the pad wear indicators...and yes they can make noise without the brakes being applied

The squeak is more than likely a suspension component. But towards the metal grinding noise I just had this happen to my car and when I checked the pad and they were fine the culprit was the metal clips that hold the brakes in place, one of the tabs had bent and was imbeding onto my rotor. I removed the tab and the problem was gone. Hope i've been of some help.

How bad is the noise? Can you feel it through the steering wheel? Have your wheel bearings ever been replaced. When mine went, it started with whining on turns but gradually got to the point when it would while going straight and grind when turning. Has the noise been gradually getting worse or did it just start one day?

Yeah, the noise is becoming more and more noticeable. I'll have to wait until the end of the week to check on the metal clips by the brake pads. Wheel bearings have not been change. There are times when I press down the front of the car, the car would squeak. Could there be a problem with the shocks?

did u ever have power steering or did it just go away? it could be the shocks or brakes, clips or it could be the metal dust cover thats behind the rotor. is the car dropped?

I don't think the car came with power steering option. It is lowered on ground controls w/ stock shocks. If it was the suspension, could it be possible to reuse the ground controls and getting new shocks?

Bump. Anyone know if it is alright to reuse the ground controls if I buy a new set of shocks?

yes you can reuse the ground controls

I'd check your axles first - the other thing is the little brake dust guard thing pressing against your wheel or the rotor - also check any side skirts and such just to be sure...
