Running light issue, to do with parking brake switch
Hey,
I have a weird problem with my EF. When my parking brake is up, and the parking brake light is illumintaed, my running lights (rear tailights, front corners, etc) are working just fine. As soon as the parking brake is released, the lights shut off. To fire up the lights again I need to shut off the car and turn off the ignition entirely and pull the parking brake back up, then start the car. I only have this issue with the vehicle running or the ignition in the 2nd position.
As far as I know, no DRL relay has been installed but I have yet to check. Reason I say that is because I dont have any lights on during daytime, but that could be because of a faulty DRL relay I havent found yet. Anyone else ever had this issue??

IMO you're on the right track about the relays. If I remember correctly there is a relay-type thing near the battery in the engine bay, maybe that is for the running lights? I never had this problem so I'm not too sure. It could also be a short-circuit somewhere? Sorry I wasn't much help, just felt bad for you since nobody replied you yet.
There was a DRL module with two cracked solder connections. The DRL module was bolted to the heater motor, to access it I had to remove the glovebox. I touched up the solder connections and everything is fine. Just putting this in for somebody elses reference.
