Pick My Paint?
So my car has a several different shades of Satin Silver Metallic, and now it's time to clean it all up with fresh paint for the whole car. I'm looking for something darker that I can polish up each weekend since this silver isn't hardly worth the $.50 it costs to wash off once a month. The body is pretty straight, maybe an 8.5/10, with only one spot that will need a bit of filler and sanding.

I've come down to two options, but can't tear myself away from one or the other. The color needs to work well with my wheels that are polished/gold, so keep that in mind. I haven't found these colors on a stock vehicle yet to get paint codes, so if anyone could contribute ideas for either, I'd really appreciate it.
Anyway, here are the two colors. The first is a very dark blue slate/graphite black combo, and the second is a sort of graphite black metallic.

Thanks for looking and voting, and a special thanks to Eric for the photos seen here.

I've strongly considered white because it looks so great on most cars, but I don't think I've ever seen a white Accord coupe that hit me like... "Whoa..."
I'm going with Dupont Chromobase for my paint. I appreciate the offer, but I'm in S. Carolina for the time being. The good news is my friend who owns a highly reputable collision shop will be spraying it himself.
dupont=FAIL, imo. ive worked in top body shops in the state, never liked any paint/product other than PPG, or Glasurit. but you car already looks clean so good luck, let me know what color you end up doing

Everyone I've spoken to recommends Dupont, and describes PPG as a 'knock-off' paint brand. It could be out of ignorance, but I have yet to see the two compared in person. What are some of the benefits of PPG?
just fyi, PPG is an originator in the paint world, def. a pioneer. just about every car company uses PPG as their trusted OEM paint. and i know that painters have their own brands that they like, but i have used paint from PPG, Glasurit, Dupont, SW and maybe a few others and nothing compares to PPG or Glasurit.
so just some food for thought.
dont want you to only know about Dupont, get out there and experience others, then go back to what you like. the only way to learn.

Thanks for that info. I've received a couple quotes so far from Dupont dealers, but find myself having a hard time describing paint colors. Do you have any tips on how to describe the colors above? I'm somewhat leaning toward the Graphite Black Metallic, but I want it to truly reflect like the first photo. I want some metallic flake in there, and I want it dark, but not a true black, but not a pure gray either.

but from how you named the colors seems to be fine, i know i could mix what you want or at least get the idea. i believe youd want a white pearl, mixed with charcoal/gun metal paint.
i say paint it how you want to paint it. Dont let people tell you what you like. Pick what you like. its your ride. your money. your decision.
if you need idea search around and see other color of cars. go on car domain or other forums and search for your car and see what other colors grab your eye.
