difficult to repair sunroof on 90 crx si?
About a year ago before I sent my CRX to the body shop for a new paint job and during my time when I was removing the trim and seals and sunroof panel I managed to damage the sunroof system. The rear rails are free moving ones that are supposed to slide with the panel but since the panel was removed in the open position the rear rails were still resting on the top of the roof. I was inside the car cranking the sunroof mechanism to the closed position when I heard a lot bang and then suddenly the I discovered that I was silly in not pushing the rear rail sliders back into the roof first. Now the rear right roof rail doesn't lift up and down like the left side. I'm assuming the lift mechanism on the one side will need to be replaced?
Bottom line is: how difficult is it to remove and rebuild and re-install the sunroof?
I figured since the car is 19 years old that it probably isn't a bad idea to rebuild/relube it anyways...
thoughts?
Thanks

You gotta remove the headliner, and then you can pretty much get into all that.
I don't honestly remember if you can get out just that railing portion or not; I'm betting you can, in which case going to a junkyard or Honda and getting the part would probably put you in for a couple of hours of work but nothing that you couldn't get done in an afternoon.
Just guess though, take it for what it is.

It took mine out 2 days ago and replaced it because my old one was rusted out to the fullest. It took me like 2 hrs. you might need a hand from somebody else because the sunroof is a little heavy to take out. It was pretty difficult because i didnt take the whole top panel out because its mega glued in the front by the front windshield and i was concerned that if i take off the panel it was going to break because its delicate.
