Default RSX seats in my Integra (pic heavy)

Update: Added picture of rear seats!

I drive about 35 miles to and from work and the stock seats in my car just werent cutting it anymore. Very little lumbar support and my 6'1" legs were a little to cramped for comfort. I wanted cloth. Hate leather. Good aftermarkets were out of my price range. Found out a few Acura RSX's came with cloth instead of the more popular leather. Searched around on the net for a few weeks. Found some on ebay that LKQ had listed. Since we do business with LKQ I had them transferred and delivered to my work. $400 otd.

Seats were in excellent shape. One small cig burn on the drivers bottom but other than that perfect. Came with the rear seats also. Plan on modifying them to fit in the near future.

Basically as you will see in the pictures I had to completely modify the seat frame, sliders and mounting tabs to fit the seats in my car. Ive seen people mount them in these cars but I wasn't happy with the work or the finished product so I decided to do alot more modifying. The seats from factory sit way to high to use as is. I wanted them to sit as low as possible in the car. I also needed to make sure the drivers seat would sit back farther than the factory integra seat did.

Overall Im extremely happy with how they turned out. I have tons more legroom. Actually had to move the seat forward from the last position because its a bit too far back. Support is alot better. Feels like a different car to sit in.

Anyway enough jabber. Onto the pics.

here you can see what the original frame looked like with the rails removed

The rails with the mounting feet removed

I used the same feet all the way around, just turned the front ones around and bent/welded the tabs the other direction.

The sharpie line shows where Im cutting the frame down.

Tack welded in place

The pass seat finish welded (no I dont have a decent welder so I had a shop do it)

Cleaned up and painted

Had to trim the "trim" because of clearance issues with the floor

You can c the pass side is no higher than the original seat was.

Drivers seat trim complete. The drivers seat took quite abit more work because it was originally height adjustable. So I had to remove/modify alot of those parts so the seat would sit lower than it was supposed to.

Taddaa! (the drivers seat isn't back all the way)

Tadaa2!

And the best for last. The Beer of choice!

Finished up the rears last night. The backrest is easy as cake. The frames are exactly the same except for the way they mount in the car. All you have to do is take the seat cover and foam and swap it over to the old frame. The seat bottom takes a little bit more work. The RSX bottom is a decent amount bigger. I was able to take the integra foam and frame and wrap it with the rsx material and hog ring it and make it pretty presentable. Once I layed everything out and got a plan it all went together in about 2 hours. Now I have matching front & rear seats. Very Happy!

I have a few more pics of the drivers seat and stuff if anybody wants more details. Not sure anybody wants to go through all this work. I probably have 30-40 hrs worth of work in them. But well worth it to me for a winter project.

A pic of the car for reference, not in winter mode.

I didn't measure at the back of the base of the seat but they look like they might be slanted toward the floor a bit more. Which would lead to more head room. I definitely dont have any less head room.

Nope, I welded the upper portion of the seat rails to the bottom of the seat frame. Just like the factory seats. I have full adjustment front to back.

Hate to bring this back after 2 years, but I'm curious of what was done to the Driver's side seats? I took the cushions off and it doesn't look like I can do the exact same thing to the driver side and I can't figure out how to do it.

Can OP or anyone that has done something similar to this explain? I really like this method to get the seat lower.

I notice that on the passenger side, the cable under is no longer usable and the feature of the seats sliding forward when folded foward is no longer there.

What other features on passenger or driver side was eliminated to do this process?
