Hey I have a 1990 accord LX and i was wondering if there was a reason that people remove the cigarette lighters? It prolly sounds like a stupid question but i have owned 5 of these cars from 1990-1993 and only one has had a cigarette lighter! lol

Also Is there a common place that water gets into the trunk? Thanks in advance for any help!

Water in the trunk is either from bad seals around the trunk (the rubber ones) or a sunroof drain is clogged.

Since you're a LX I'll assume you don't have the sunroof and would say it's probably the rubber.

 

The Gaskets which seal the tail lamps to the body deteriorate over time, the water leaks in behind the lamps. Sometimes it's so bad that the lamp fills with water!

You think no lighters is weird. My wife's EX Civic has no lighter AND no ashtray from the factory. It had to be specifically ordered that way.

The tail lamps do have water in them but it looks more like the water sitting in the carpet is evaporating and settling on them.. i did replace those seals and used a liquid sealent to try and reinforce it, I suppose its the trunk rubber.

my 90 LX cig lighter was missing to and all the ones in the junkyard didnt have any either kinda weird like someone has taken them all out of the cars

 

Yea, the wires are there for it and everything on all of them in the junk yard around me too. Wtf? lol

 

It wasn't.

No USDM '96-00 Civics had lighters or ashtrays from the factory. The lighter and ashtray for those cars was only offered as a dealer-installed accessory.
