Default just got a 95 hatch. Have a few questions.

Okay first things first, I need new quarter panels due to rust above the wheels. And my fenders are surface rusted. Do they have replacements from fiberglass for these? My steering wheel moves half a turn either way before the wheels start turning. What do I need to do to fix this? My shifter when in gear can just move wherever like it's not in gear. What would cause this, shift linkage?

Some details about the car, friend called the motor the jdm 1.5 dual vtec. Has full suspension, great condition f&r gsr seats, good condition gsr wheels. My plans for the car is to be the fasest street driveable I can make it. Would like to have traction on the street with Drs. I am undecided if I should go lsv or b16. I want a fast spooling 325-375 whp or so. With the capability to put a bigger turbo on the same manifold at a later time when it is no longer my DD. My other car is a 2000 vette. And a high 11 second srt4 is what the civic is replacing.

I have never built a motor before but I will be attempting it for this car. What are some neccisary books I could get to familiarize myself if I run into any snags? I will be going with either motor. I want it built and boosted. For my hp goals will the motor need sleeving? And is gt30 the fastest turbo that should be able to do my up goal?

Well posting from my phone. So my fngers hurt now. Name is rob. Hopefully I can get some pics up of my piece of poo LOL. But will slowly transform into a nice piece. Hope I get a warm welcme and maybe meet some people in my area to help teach me more about hondas since this is my first foreign car.

I'd say take that thing to the junkyard. Find another car, preferably in better condition.

Holy crap man you need a lot of info.

As far as fenders they do not make OEM replacements in fiberglass, they are sheet metal. The only fiberglass ones you'll get are aftermarket garbage ones. The fiberglass ones won't fit worth a **** either, so good luck with those.

Half a turn in either direction before turning is either loose tie rod ends or the rack is loose or something else is really ****ed up.

Shifter moving that easily is a linkage problem. Crawl under the car and look and I'm sure the problem will be super apparent.

As far as motor goes, the LS/VTEC turbo is a tried and true setup if tuned correctly. It will be able to make a ton of power and be reliable if built correctly. If you want 350ish WHP you won't need to sleeve. Stock sleeves can handle 500 WHP as long as the motor is tuned correctly. Detonation is what kills sleeves on Honda motors. Traction will be easier to attain with drag radials on the street, but when you start looking at a 350 WHP DD hatch you're not going to be able to dump the clutch and just do whatever you want with it unless you sink some serious money into the suspension and drivetrain to handle wheel hop and drivetrain shock.

For your forced induction questions though you need to be posting in the forced induction section. This section is for general technical questions involving 92-00 Civics.
