It now depends on how much boost...

i was talking with someone else and he said that it wont run really well without a turbo, at least not performance wise.... will i NEED to get a turbo? and also can i supercharge it instead or do you think this was specifically made for turbo?? and im planning on taking this car on a 1400 mile trip to oregon from arizona, is that a good idea on a built motor??

Turbocharger = Supercharger.
the differences?
A Turbo (driven) Supercharger uses the waist energy recovered from the Exhaust system to drive a compressor which pumps additional air into an engine.
A belt/gear (driven) Supercharger uses energy supplied by the engine itself. A belt or gear drive drives a compressor which pumps additional air into an engine.
The Turbo is more efficient.
At 8:1 compression ratio, the engine was specific built for boost.
A naturally aspired H22 would normally see anything from 10.5:1 to 12:1; depending on available fuels, and could not tolerate boost of any kind.
I see no reason why a properly built motor wouldn't be suitable. In it's present trim, that H22 (without boost) would be no more (or less) than a stock F22. the turbo would certainly wake it up tho

I second the choice for the jackson racing, if you really must have one. You will make much more power from a turbo setup, but superchargers are a rare choice in Hondas.

you'll get totally bored of the supercharger very quickly. they also make less hp per lb of boost and create more heat than the engine itself. turbocharge it. if for NO other reason, turbos sound WAY cooler.
In addition, a belt driven supercharher is rpm dependent. They make very little boost at idle and only increase with the rpms.
S/C will bog down the bottom end. Like the others said, get that built motor a turbo. It WILL be more fun and create power where you want it, I promise.
I've had a turbo, (04 SRT4 stage 2), and Supercharger, (99 Grand Prix GTP, Gen 5 Blower) and personally the Supercharger sounds soooo much better than a turbo. and I HATE turbo Lag too, I like pushing the pedal down and going, not having to wait for the boost to build
