nope the labor was 117. however, the dealer was going to charge me way more. so i'm confused. why are there kits online for 20 bucks.

Well a full valve cover gasket kit? Cuz that includes the valve cover gasket, spark plug tube seals, and a few more for other parts (saw the diagram from the Honda eStore) I think that whole set will cost around $60. But if it's just for the valve cover gasket only, that's a rip-off!

typically, a garage will mark up its part price 100% or more as it profits on the part cost as well as its labor..
i recall paying about $25 from a honda web site a year ago for the valve and plugs gaskets. it went on very easily. i recommend a light torque wrench to avoid overtightening the aluminum and assure each bolt is same torque for evenness on v. gasket.
my impression is a few years ago web part prices were always about 1/2 $tealer part prices for similar quality parts. more recently that difference may have lessened, perhaps because $tealerships are feeling the competition.

well, this guy is going to replace them again. valve cover gasket kit ( valve cover gasket plus 8 0 ring spark plug tube seals). For only the price of the parts. which is with tax 75 bucks. he said he going to do the labor for free. I said well, the seals might go bad again! And he says, well, seals sometimes just go bad even the day after he once installed a timing belt seal it went bad the next day cause it's rubber and what not.
