Default Putting a previously stolen/stripped eg together in 2 weeks without warning...

I figured I would share this with you guys...

1. this build doesn't feature an amazing wire tuck
2. it doesnt have a sick motor build either
3. this is about my 1994 civic cx that I have owned for 5 years, its been through hell and back and I would appreciate if the negativity was left out of this thread. The car is far from done...

Alot of you know me...I dont cut corners but I'm not a baller...I take my time and do things right when I have the money and time.

Lets start with how I bought this thing when I was 14. My aunt and uncle were in the process of moving into a mountain cabin in New Hampshire, they owned 2 suv's and a 1994 civic cx...it was my uncle's commuter car. He was meticulous with maintenance and it was always kept clean. It needed a timing belt and radiator so I towed it home for $500.

This is the day I put an aem cai on the stock d15b8....why?...because I was 15.

This is 6 months later

Fast forward to my freshman year of college...swirlies, d16y7, oem lip...buncha little stuff that made me love it

Then some dbag stole it, I got it back looking like this

Yeah, they stole my single cam. Broke *** mother****ers. I bought a coupe after that, threw a motor in real quick...it was kind of a half assed constantly being fixed car that never ran right...

After replacing a wheel bearing, ruining 2 sets of tires, changing a blown headgasket, losing a slave cylinder in drivers rear and having no brakes...the motor finally started knocking. 15 minutes later the entire exhaust fell off, was not my best day. My original plan was to collect a mass amount of parts for my hatch, cage it, swap it and road race it. That went out the window and I had to make it run in 2 weeks.

Step 1: clean it out. Gourley and KaytiPi helped me vacuum/clean the interior, take out my dash and change my steering column. The thieves cut every pigtail off of the dash harness and mainharness....so I took out the heater core/blower motor and ripped the entire harness out.

Step 2: brakes. Those broke *** mother****ers stole my stock cx f/r brakes...yeah 9" fronts and small rear drums. Lowlifes. I picked up 99-00 si front knuckles and 2000 ls rears. I pressed new oem bushings into the lca's/uca's.

Step 3: motor. I didn't have any time to pick up something with 2 cams...luckily I found a complete d16y8 in a wrecked 2000 ex fs, I went and pulled it from the car myself, snaked the radiator, axles, linkage, all hoses, heater core valve and some more goodies for a steal of a price. Dude was super cool. I traded my 14's for an apex n1, picked up an aem sri, got an obd2 ls harness to be plug and play with an obd2 motor n an obd1 car, took the mounts from my coupe. The only picture I have of the motor before it went in the car is a shitty camera phone picture...you can also see the n1

Step 4: suspension. I had brand 1 week old omni power sport coilovers on my coupe when I blew it up...so I transfered them over. The car rolled out of the garage like this:

Step 5: cosmetic bullshit. This is where I am lacking...the paint was royally ****ed by the thieves, dents everywhere, it started rusting out of nowhere while it was missing...some bottlecaps, an old cracked lip, mudflaps made me feel slightly less trashy driving this thing.

My old wheels painted white...

Bodywork/paint are next...for now it's my dd commuter car and unfortunately I have to park the car 5 days/week exactly where it was stolen from....so I dont see me putting any money into it until I have a dd.

damn man, props to you. I stopped halfway through the pic with the empty engine bay and was like "damn they stole a d16"??. Then I saw when you wrote the same thing under the pic. That's crazy and the whole brakes thing...it's just sad. You have heart though. You should get an alarm or wheel club or something. You said that you didn't want to put any money in it but you didn't the first time and they jacked it. You get me?

lol yeah...low life scumbags...the car was always a commuter so it was aimed at reliability. the d16y7 was fresh, i had a fresh z6 trans w/ an exedy clutch, itr f/r sway bars, asr plate, omni control arms, omni coilovers, edm cluster that went to 230km/h, oem fogs...it was a whole bunch of little **** and a lot of meticulous maintenance...i bet you couldnt tell that the car had 250k miles on it in the pic with the swirlies

They probably stole it thinking you had a decent swap, seeing how clean the body/stance was.

Props for bringing it back to life Most people would of just sold the shell.

They obviously need just the drivers side suspension too.

Good job on the resurrection!
