90 accord oil light on
one day was driving my high mileage accord and the oil light came on checked it it was good let it cool off thought it was just hot then it came back on again later. changed the oil put in penzoil with lucas oil light still come on what could be the problem?
1) You hit a parking lot curb, driving the oil pan up against the oil pump pickup OR
2) Sludge has built up in the oil pan and may have started breaking loose, clogging the oil pump pickup.
3) Sludge has started circulating and has blocked off the oil PSI switch
Continued operation without determining what has happened may well grenade the engine.

i know they have that stuff you put in to "clean" the engine. It breaks down sludge. Look into it. But i know on high milage engines they have sludge in them that keeps the engine going or something like that. I really mean that it could hurt your engine as it will mess with seals. check it out though. Did you try any high milage oils with detergents to break that stuff up? web
Sometimes the introduction of an oil product with a real good detergent package can actually cause this.
I've had customers buy high milage 'granny cars', change the oil and have the oil pump sieze. Those every day short trips to art class weren't kind on the engine, built up sludge like crazy. Fresh oil started eroding the sludge until it started flaking off in chunks. Guess where it ended up.
